While the internet was busy stargazing at the Actor Awards, tracking Demi from Gucci to Schiaparelli, and attempting to solve the mystery of Jim Carrey’s new face, I spent the weekend virtually ping-ponging between aesthetics meetings.

In Colombia, surgeons brainstormed cutting-edge approaches to body contouring and breast surgery. In St. Louis, global thought leaders debated the finer points of facial rejuvenation—from SMAS lifts to deep neck sculpting to advanced blepharoplasty. A third group convened in Fort Lauderdale for Bringing You the Masters, an intensive blend of face-focused lectures and dissections (which I covered last year, as well). And in Santa Monica, Chia Chi Kao, MD, gave a three-day crash course on his trademarked endoscopic techniques during a hands-on Ponytail Academy workshop.

Ahead, attendees share favorite moments and takeaways from the weekend’s events. (One even offers a peek at his notes, which are every bit as nerdy as you might hope.)
